About the Role
As our VP of Finance and Operations, you will be a key member of our leadership team. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and operational functions of the company. You will lead strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, operational management, and fundraising efforts. We're looking for someone with a strong background in both finance and operations, with a proven track record of successfully guiding startups through Series A and beyond. In this role, you will report directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning, Management, and Analysis:
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and working capital to ensure liquidity and financial stability
- Provide strategic financial and operational recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections
Fundraising and Investor Relations:
- Collaborate with the CEO to secure additional funding rounds, including Series B and beyond
- Oversee the preparation of financial documents and due diligence materials for prospective investors
- Manage relationships with existing investors, preparing and presenting financial reports and updates
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departments
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives to improve operational performance and support growth
- Manage resources, including human capital, technology, and infrastructure, to ensure optimal allocation and utilization
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational workflows, reduce costs, and improve overall company performance
Requirements for the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in finance and operations, including experience in a high-growth startup environment, preferably in the digital health or technology sectors
- Advanced proficiency in financial software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, FP&A tools)
- Exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently present to various stakeholders
- Strong operational management and process improvement skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
